Notice to all Shareholders – Upcoming Zoom Board meeting and repair work at HMOA

There will be a Board Zoom meeting on Friday, February 25, at 5:00pm. All shareholders are welcome to listen in. Agenda and Zoom link will be posted on the website by Friday afternoon.

We had an engineering firm inspect the boathouse and surroundings this week. Following the inspection, it was determined that the stairwell and deck above the boathouse will now be closed for security reasons until further notice (see pictures below).

In addition, we are looking forward to have some quick repairs and maintenance starting this Friday, February 25th on both guests and owners parking lots. Work will start with building D and then building C.

Dan, our handyman, will be power washing the walkways and touching up paint. This work could take one to two weeks so please be patient while the work is underway and the paint dries. Drying may take 4 to 6 hours after each coat.

There will be a sign posted by the mailboxes with the schedule prior to power washing and painting so every owner is being asked to temporarily move their car away while the work is being done.

We are excited for these upcoming improvements as this will brighten up our little piece of paradise.

Stay tuned for more!

Town of Hillsboro Beach Residents,

Turtle season is quickly approaching. Here are some reminders to abide by throughout the season:

1.) Keep lighting low, shielded and wavelength (light sources are greater than 560nm and include amber, orange, and red LEDs.)

2.) Beach fire permits will not be permitted throughout the season. Fire permits will resume November 1st, 2022.

3.) Preserve the beach habitat. Sea turtles rely on the sandy beach to complete their life cycle. Keep it pristine by disposing of trash properly, picking up litter, filling in holes, and keeping beach chairs stacked as far from the water as possible after sunset.

4.) Do not disturb the nests. If you see a nesting female or hatchlings on the beach, observe from a distance and refrain from taking photos. Turn off flashlights and cell phones. If hatchlings are found away from the beach, call 954-328-0580.

Here are some important phone numbers:
-Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program: (Emergency Line 24/7) 954-328-0580
-Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission: (Wildlife Hotline 24/7) 1-888-404-3922

Board of Directors

Happy New Year 2022!

Dear Residents:

Well, the 2022 Season has now begun!  There are a few reminders that have been made in the past at this time of year which bear repeating:

1.  Please review the House Rules which can be found on this website (www.1043Hillsboromile.com; password “paradise”).

2.  Remember that there is a diagram for placement of chairs and cabanas on our beach within those rules.  Additionally, only Dan, our handyman, can move cabanas and chairs, so please seek him out if you believe your chairs/cabana are not placed correctly and need to be moved.  Also remember to always put chairs and cabanas down at the end of the day for safety reasons and so they do not obstruct views of first floor residents.  Lastly,  It has been requested by our Beautification Committee if you’re purchasing new chairs/cabanas, please choose neutral colors.

3.  We want to remind everyone if your unit is going to be used by anyone without the owners’ presence, please let the Board know.  And remind your guests of the House Rules.

4.  We also want to remind everyone there are NO PETS allowed on the premises unless they have received specific approval from the Board.  Please be sure your guests comply with this rule as well.

5.  Parking:  each unit may only use one parking space in the upper parking lot.  Additional vehicles, including service trucks and guests, need to be parked in the lower parking lots.  Also, PLEASE park in your building’s lot — e.g., there should be no C cars in the D lot and no D cars in the C lot — remember there are not an equal number of parking spaces for the number of units.

6.  As this is the time for holiday visitors, pool area celebrations and hired workmen, PLEASE remember to lock and leave locked our pool gate, restrooms, storage room and  boathouse including all its sliding glass doors.  They have been left unlocked — and we are finding abused/unclean restrooms and boathouse property or privately owned property stolen.

We are all looking forward to the 2022 Season at 1043 Hillsboro Mile!

Any questions or concerns, please reach out through the website.
